Calvin Brooks - Jazz Guitarist, Vocalist, Recording Artist.One of 6 children Calvin was born and raised in Detroit, Mi. to a automotive worker and a homemaker. His parents recognized his musical ability early on and nurtured his talent by allowing him to study and the Grinnell School of music.Growing up in Detroit in the 60’s surrounded by the sounds of Motown Calvin spent endless hours playing his guitar to the ever present R & B and Jazz tunes. By the age of 14 he was being paid to play at local events and developed quite a reputation within the music circles of his hometown.
