Forthfading
Forthfading began in early 2001 when dual front-men (and now brothers-in-law) Robert Bell and Chad McIlvenna began to sing and write together. Guitarists Derek Amos and Jay Beebe soon entered the picture-both well-rounded musicians with formidable guitar skills â forming a symbiotic song-writing team. The bandâs lineup has been completed with the recent additions of Shon Rand on bass and Patrick Rives on drums.
In September 2004, Forthfading released the debut EP âInternal.â Immaculately produced, the songs display the bandâs rare range and flexibility while retaining a common thread of passion and honesty. Bell and McIlvenna explore the struggles and triumphs of life by revealing deeply personal fragments of their souls. Offering both raw expression and thoughtful insight, their lyrics connect to and resonate with a youth often isolated from the world.
Forthfadingâs live performances engage this emotional connection with full-tilt energy. Bell and McIlvenna move the crowd with elaborate harmonies punctuated by piercing screams and accentuated by the beautiful, driving guitar riffs and rhythm section. The radio-ready âFearâ and âPerfect Imperfectionâ transition to the moody âKnow Where to Runâ and then the all-out aural assault of âPushâ and âTreading Water.â The sound is tight, massive and stirring. Forthfading and âInternalâ are defining new-rock.
